Rapid City Co-Workers Claim $10,000 Powerball Prize

A group of 14 co-workers from a Rapid City business on May 30, 2013 claimed their $10,000 Powerball prize from the May 22, 2013 drawing.

Known as the "Auto Auction 14", the staff (including the owner) of Black Hills Auto Auction on Highway 44 in Rapid City purchased their winning ticket at Fresh Start on East Highway 44. The store will receive a $1,000 bonus for the sale. The odds of matching four of five white ball numbers and the Powerball to win the game's $10,000 third prize are 1:648,976.

Members of the group are: Leonard Beckman, Rapid City; Venessa Capps, Box Elder; John Cox, Jr., Rapid City; Richard Dunne, Rapid City; Richard Falk, Rapid City; Clay Freier, Rapid City; Virgil Getzloff, Rapid City; Duane Green, Rapid City; Gregory Hoffman, Rapid City; John Kepler, Rapid City; George Meyers, Rapid City; David Murray, Chancellor; John Nelson, Rapid City; and Darrel Peterson, Rapid City.

Powerball is played in 43 states, the District of Columbia and the U.S. Virgin Islands. The jackpot currently sits at $40 million for the next drawing on Saturday, June 1, 2013.
